Washington boys soccer JV team opened play with a tournament on Saturday. The Hatchet JV defeated Pike Central 5-0 and Boonville 4-0. Meanwhile, the Junior High Hatchets went 1-1-1 in the Jasper Jamboree.
In the makeup game Saturday morning where the Barr-Reeve Middle School Varsity Soccer team hosted the Vincennes Clark Alices, the Alices walked away with the win 4 to 2. In the second half, Leo Wilson scored on a penalty kick followed by an assist from Wilson that was finished by Landon Gallagher.
The Middle School Vikings Soccer Club travels to Bloomfield tonight with kickoffs at 5:30 and 7 pm.
The Washington Boys Tennis team will open the season with a match at Sullivan tonight.

The Indianapolis Colts quarterback competition is heating up. The blue and white took down the Carolina Panthers 21-18 in their first home game with full capacity since 2019. Both Jacob Eason and rookie Sam Ehlinger took snaps for the horseshoe, each receiving double digit chances to show off their arms. With no exact timetable for the return of Carson Wentz, the Colts will continue to work the first and second year signal callers. They will hit the road this week to Minnesota for week two of the preseason.
