FDA links Midwestern Pet Foods to over 300 dog deaths & illnesses

The FDA believes products made by Midwestern Pet Foods may have caused deaths and illnesses in over 300 dogs.
The agency’s warning letter Tuesday said it knows of more than 130 pet deaths and 220 pet illnesses connected to eating brands of pet food’s manufactured by the Indiana company.
They say the Midwestern dry dog food may have high levels of aflatoxin.
Aflatoxin can grow on corn and grains used in pet food that could make pets sick or possibly die.
The company recalled several types of its dog foods late last year and it was expanded in January.
