Linda Grace Mattingly

Linda Grace Mattingly, 76, passed away while at the Park Terrace Village in Evansville, August 29, 2021. Linda was born in Loogootee, March 15, 1945, to Genevive (Leach) Helm and Floyd Helm. On November 30, 1963, she married James V. Mattingly, and he survives.
Linda was a 1963 graduate of Odon High School. She worked as a nursing aide at various area nursing homes, and was employed at the Washington Times-Herald for many years, working in the printing and distribution department.
Linda was blessed with many artistic and creative talents: painting, sculpting, and ceramics. She loved music and was an avid Star Trek “Trekkie,” and Harry Potter fan. She loved TV mysteries, the Star Trek series and the old Hawaii 5-0 series. She was also on a bowling league.
Known to have a generous spirit, Linda loved people, made friends easily, and was known to have never met a stranger. Most of all, she deeply loved her family, and cherished time spent with them.
Those who now cherish Linda’s memory include: her daughters, Michelle ( David )McCord of Washington; Jennifer ( Bob) Sullivan of Emison; and her son, Ryan Mattingly of Washington. Linda was very proud of her grandchildren: Rachel Schell; Tosha Webster; Braydon Sullivan; and Haley Sullivan; and her two great-grandchildren: Gracie Jones, and Riverleigh Sullivan. Additionally, Linda leaves two sisters: Karel (Helm) Smith of Fort Myers, Florida; and Debbie (Bennie) Lawyer of Plainville.
During her lifetime, Linda mourned the loss of her parents, Genevive and Floyd Helm; and granddaughter, Maddie Grace Webster.
Services will be held at a later date.
