Marion County would be getting more Democratic, but the rest of Indiana would remain fully in Republican hands under the state’s proposed new political map.
Lawmakers released the map Tuesday.
It’s based on the population shift in the latest Census.
The biggest change is that Republican Congresswoman Victoria Spartz is losing part of Marion County in her district but gaining new voters in the suburbs.
The map would all but guarantee that Republicans will keep their majorities at the state Capitol and in Congress.
Indiana Democrats say the map is gerrymandered.
