The Barr Reeve Vikings shut down Washington in straight sets last night at the Hatchet House 25-20, 25-17, 25-18. Washington drops to 3 and 6, while Barr Reeve improves to 11 and 7. The Hatchets face Loogootee tonight.
The North Daviess Tennis team defeated South Knox 5 to nothing yesterday improving their record to 13 and 2.  Next up for the Cougars, will be Gibson Southern at home on Thursday.
The Washington Boys and Girls Soccer teams will have a doubleheader tonight at the Sports Complex as they welcome in Jasper.  The boys play first with kick off at 5:30p, the girls game will follow around 7:30pm .  Catch live coverage of both games tonight starting at 5:15pm on Memories 107.9fm.
Joey Votto went 3-for-3 with a pair of home runs and three RBI, and the Cincinnati Reds came back from a 5-0 deficit to beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 9-5. The Reds scored four in the third, including a two-run double from Nick Castellanos and a two-run homer from Votto. A solo shot from the former NL MVP tied the game in the fifth, and then Eugenio Suarez homered in the next at-bat to give Cincinnati the lead for good. Castellanos finished with three RBI on three hits and Kyle Farmer added an insurance home run. With the victory, the Reds remained three games back of St. Louis for the second National League wild card berth. In Milwaukee, Nolan Arenado hit a two-run home run in the first inning and the Cardinals defeated the Brewers 5-2 to win their ninth straight. Yadier Molina gave the Cards the lead with a tie-breaking RBI single in the sixth and later added an insurance RBI single. Jon Lester earned his 200th career victory by allowing three hits and two runs over six innings.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Carson Wentz suffered sprains in both ankles in Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams. His status for this weekend’s game at AFC South rival Tennessee is up in the air, according to coach Frank Reich. Wentz suffered a right ankle sprain in the fourth quarter of the loss to L.A. and did not return.

Purdue wide receiver David Bell is in concussion protocol and his status for Saturday’s game against Illinois is unclear. Boilermakers coach Jeff Brohm said Bell does not need a whole lot of practice time in order to play, and that the staff will monitor him closely throughout the week. Bell was hit from behind by Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton, and his head bounced off the turf during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s loss in South Bend.
