The Washington Boys and Girls Soccer teams hosted a doubleheader at the Sports Complex on Senior night yesterday. The Hatchet boys started things off with two goals in the first half from Tyler Boyd and Nate Strange for a 2-0 lead, before the Cats clawed back for two in the second half ending the game in a 2-all tie. In the night cap, the Hatchet girls fell down 3 to 1, before coming back with three unanswered goals and winning 4 to 3. Emma Dant finished with the hat trick, while Izzy Howell scored the other Hatchet goal.
Other Boys Soccer yesterday, Washington Catholic held on to top Lighthouse Christian 2 to 1.

In the Barr Reeve Cross Country Invitational, the boys meet went to Jasper, with South Knox second, and Bloomfield third. For the Girls race, South Knox captured the win, Jasper second, and the Barr Reeve Vikings finished in third.
The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 2-1 Tuesday night to win their 10th straight game, the Cards’ longest winning streak in 20 years. Tommy Edman went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, and Jake Woodford gave up two hits and struck out five over five shutout innings. The Cardinals have a four-game lead for the second wild card berth with 10 games to go after the Pirates defeated the Reds 6-2. At Wrigley Field, the Minnesota Twins beat the Chicago Cubs 9-5. Willson Contreras and Patrick Wisdom each had two RBI in the losing effort.
The Indianapolis Colts return to the practice field Wednesday, and injured quarterback Carson Wentz will test out his sprained ankles and see how well he can move. Wentz was in a walking boot and riding around on a scooter at the Colts’ facility Monday. Wentz suffered sprains in both ankles of last week’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams,and was knocked out of the game in the fourth quarter with a right ankle sprain. Indianapolis takes on AFC South rival Tennessee Sunday in a crucial divisional matchup. The Colts are 0-2, while the Titans are 1-1 and coming off an overtime win at Seattle.
