Barr Reeve Volleyball team topped Loogootee at Viking Arena 3-2. Big conference win for the Vikings in a hard fought game on both sides, that went 5 sets with the Vikings winning 15-9 to cap off the win. Barr Reeve is 13-7, and the 1A #2 Lions fall back to 13-4.  The Vikings win the JV game in two.  
Washington fell to Forest Park at home on senior night in four sets.
Washington Girls Soccer shut out Forest Park 3-0.  The Washington boys soccer team shut out Princeton with a 1-0 win.  They will take on Heritage Hills Saturday morning.
The North Daviess tennis team improved to 14-2 with another win topping Gibson Southern on senior night yesterday.  North Daviess will play Evansville Harrison on the road tonight, and begin SWIAC tourney play Tomorrow at Linton.
Barr Reeve shut out Evansville Christian with a 5-0 win.  The Vikings are now 13-2

The St. Louis Cardinals roared back from an early 5-0 deficit to beat the Milwaukee Brewers 8-5. The Cards have won 12 straight games, their longest winning streak since 1982. Tyrone Taylor hit a grand slam in the first inning and added a solo home run in the fifth to give Milwaukee a 5-0 lead. St. Louis tied the game on a Paul Goldschmidt two-run homer in the seventh, and took the lead on a passed ball in the eighth. Yadier Molina padded the lead with a sacrifice fly, and Goldschmidt hit his second homer of the game in the ninth. Juan Soto homered twice, and the Washington Nationals beat the Cincinnati Reds 3-2 at Great American Ball Park. Cincinnati plated two in the ninth and had the game-winning run at the plate when Tyler Stephenson struck out to end the game. The Reds are 3-8 in their last 11 games and have fallen five and a half games back of St. Louis for the second NL wild card spot with just nine games to play.
 
Notre Dame takes on 18th-ranked Wisconsin Saturday afternoon at Chicago’s Soldier Field. The 12th-ranked Fighting Irish are 6.5-point underdogs for the massive non-conference matchup that kicks off at noon on Fox. Notre Dame quarterback and former Wisconsin starter Jack Coan will look to beat his former team. Purdue hosts Illinois at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the Boilers’ Big Ten opener. Purdue all-conference wide receiver David Bell remains in concussion protocol and is a game-time decision, according to coach Jeff Brohm. The Boilermakers are favored by 11 points, and Purdue will honor the 2000 Big Ten champion team with throwback uniforms. Indiana will try to bounce back on the road at Western Kentucky. The Hoosiers are nine-point favorites over the Hilltoppers for the 8 p.m. kickoff. Ball State opens up Mid-American Conference play when the Cardinals host Toledo at 2 p.m.
 
The IndyCar season wraps up Sunday afternoon on the streets of Long Beach, California. Chip Ganassi Racing star Alex Palou can wrap up his first championship with an 11th place finish. The 24-year-old Spaniard leads Pato O’Ward by 35 points in the standings, and holds a 48-point lead over two-time IndyCar champ Josef Newgarden. While Palou is the heavy favorite to win the title, it is the 16th consecutive season in which the championship is still up for grabs entering the final race of the season. The prestigious Grand Prix of Long Beach is traditionally run in April, but was postponed this year due to COVID-19. The IndyCar season finale goes green Sunday at 3:45 p.m. Eastern.
