This summer, the Indiana Gaming Commission denied Lucy Luck Gaming a renewal of their license to build a Hard Rock Casino in Terre Haute.
Now the company that owns Churchill Downs in Louisville, has submitted a proposal to build a casino.
Inside Indiana Business reports that Churchill Downs Inc., plans to build a casino called the Queen of Terre Haute, with 1,000 slot machines, 50 table games, a sports betting section and a 125-room hotel.
Churchill Downs is one of four applicants for the open license.
The deadline for proposals was Wednesday.
The gaming commission is now reviewing the proposals.
