The Cincinnati Reds were mathematically and officially eliminated from playoff contention after losing to the Chicago White Sox from Guaranteed Rate Field by a final of 7-1 on Tuesday night. Cincinnati has been the victim of poor play down the stretch as well as the red hot St. Louis Cardinals blazing their way to a 17 game win streak to claim command of the second wild card spot in the National League. Cincinnati’s starter Riley O’Brien made it through just an inning-and-a-third while walking three batters and giving up two runs on two home runs hit. Michael Lorenzen and Amir Garrett also surrendered two runs each out of the bullpen. For the White Sox, who are cruising comfortably to the postseason with the American League Central title already in hand, they received a monster day from Luis Robert. Robert went 2/4 and pounded a home run deep into the night sky high over the left field wall. Robert had three total RBI.

According to a reports, the Indianapolis Colts and running back Marlon Mack have mutually agreed to eventually part ways as both parties will explore a trade that will send the former 1000 yard rusher out of the Circle City. Mack is now fully healthy after tearing his achilles during Week 1 last season. Despite the positive health, Mack has appeared in just one of the Colts three games so far in 2021; Getting five carries for 16 yards against the Los Angeles Rams two weeks back. It was already a loaded backfield with Mack in the lineup, as Jonathan Taylor assumed the clear starter role, while Nyheim Hines scored his first touchdown last week at Tennessee. It is likely that after Mack is dealt, fourth string back Jordan Wilkins will see an uptick in work. As a depth chart option, Wilkins has averaged over four yards a carry in his career and has been on the field for special teams work this year.
