
The Barr-Reeve Viking Volleyball Team wrapped up another Blue Chip Conference Title with a 25-14, 25-19 and 25-19 win on the road last night at Northeast Dubois. The Vikings improve to 17-7 on the season.
The JV Viking Team also wrapped up another Conference Title with a 2-1 win over the Jeeps. The JV improves to 18-5 on the season.

Both Washington JV and varsity picked up wins last tonight against North Daviess. The Varsity team won 25-11,25-9, and 25-23 scoring 40 team kills and 16 team Aces.

The Washington Catholic boys soccer team fell in the opening round of the sectional to unbeaten South Knox 7-0. The Cardinals end the year at 6-3.
The North Daviess boys tennis team advanced to the regional championship with a 5-0 win yesterday. The Cougars are 15-2, and will face Jasper for the title tonight at 5:00 pm.
The Loogootee Boys Tennis team fell to Jasper in the other semi final at Jasper yesterday 5-0.
A pair of fan-favorite IndyCar drivers will attempt to complete their Rookie Orientation Program for the Indianapolis 500 Wednesday. Jimmie Johnson and Romain Grosjean will try to pass R.O.P. at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway starting at 10:30 a.m., their first step to potentially competing in the 2022 Indy 500. Both were IndyCar rookies in 2021, but did not attempt to qualify for the Indy 500. The seven-time NASCAR Cup champion Johnson ran only on road and street courses, but is exploring the possibility of running ovals for Chip Ganassi Racing. The former Formula 1 veteran Grosjean will drive the number 28 Honda for Andretti Autosport with sponsorship from DHL next season.
The New York Knicks defeated the Indiana Pacers 125-104 Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden in the preseason opener. First round draft pick Chris Duarte led the Blue and Gold with 15 points off the bench. During the game, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Pacers traded guard Edmond Sumner and a second-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets. Hoops Hype’s Michael Scotto later reported Indiana will receive Juan Pablo Vaulet in the trade. Valuet was a second-round pick in 2015 and has not appeared in an NBA game. The 25-year-old Sumner appeared in a career-high 53 games last season, but suffered a torn Achilles last month and is expected to miss the season.
The St. Louis Cardinals will take on the Los Angeles Dodgers Wednesday night in the National League Wild Card game. Adam Wainwright will start for the Cards opposite three-time Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer for the defending World Series champion Dodgers. The 40-year-old Wainwright went 17-7 with a 3.05 ERA in the regular season. L.A. went 106-56 and enters the postseason with seven straight wins, while St. Louis won 19 of the season’s final 22 games. First pitch at Dodger Stadium is at 8:10 p.m. Eastern, with the winner advancing to play the San Francisco Giants in the NLDS.
