If you are looking for weekend activities for your family, here are some local festivals on tap for this weekend.
Odon’s Fall Pumpkin Festival returns to the area activity schedule on Saturday. The Pumpkin Festival vendors with food and handicrafts open at noon. You can enjoy inflatables, pony rides, face painting, crafts, and games. And for the pumpkins, there will be pumpkin recipe contest, a pumpkin pie eating contest, a decorated pumpkin contest, and the popular pumpkin rolling contest. At 3:30 there will be a masquerade with prizes awarded in ten categories. The Pumpkin Festival gets underway in downtown Odon, Saturday at noon.
In Wheatland, the Steen Township Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary is hosting a craft and vendor fair at the Fire Station in Wheatland…and at the same time, the Wheatland Museum his hosting an open house at the Museum which is housed in the old Robinson School at 331 Adams Street in Wheatland.
And Its Vietnam Veterans Appreciation Day at the Indiana Military Museum in Vincennes this Saturday. Meet Medal of Honor recipient Sgt. Sammy L. Davis. There will be outdoor activities, living history exhibits, food vendors, military artifact vendors, re-enactment demonstrations and rides in a Huey helicopter. The Huey rides will be free to World War II vets. The Indiana Military Museum is located at 716 S. 6th Street in Vincennes.
