The Indianapolis Colts have two defensive backs dealing with potential concussions after Monday’s devastating loss to the Ravens. Xavier Rhodes and Andrew Sendejo will have to go through the NFL’s concussion protocol before returning to the field. Coach Frank Reich did not have an update on kicker Rodrigo Blankenship, who underwent an MRI after feeling a stabbing pain in his hip before the game. Blankenship missed an extra point and two field goals, including a potential 47-yard game-winner that went wide left as time expired in regulation. The Colts are 1-4 and take on the Houston Texans Sunday at home.
The Indiana Pacers host the Memphis Grizzlies Wednesday night in a preseason contest at the new-look Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Indiana will be without three starters for Wednesday’s 7 p.m. tip off in Indianapolis. Caris LeVert and T.J. Warren have not yet played in the preseason due to back and foot injuries and will continue to sit out. New to the injury report is guard Malcolm Brogdon, who is out with a grade one left AC sprain in his shoulder. The Pacers have two home games to wrap up the preseason before opening the regular season next Wednesday at Charlotte.
The Houston Astros beat the Chicago White Sox 10-1 Tuesday in Game 4 of the American League Division Series to advance to the ALCS for the fifth straight year. The Astros clinched the series three games to one and will face the Boston Red Sox in the ALCS. Gavin Sheets homered in the second to give the White Sox a 1-0 lead, but the Astros took the lead in the third on a two-run Carlos Correa double that chased Sox starter Carlos Rodon from the game. Houston added three in the fourth, and the lead climbed from there, capped off by a three-run homer from Jose Altuve in the ninth.
