Indiana State Police arrested a man on several drug charges over the weekend in Orange County.
On Friday, Indiana State Police stopped a pickup truck for several violations on State Road 56 in French Lick.
During the traffic stop, officers discovered that the license plates on the vehicle were fake.
A K-9 unit was then called in to assist with any illegal substances. Upon arrival, the K-9 gave a positive alert to illegal substances. Officers then searched the vehicle and located approximately 16 grams of crystal methamphetamine, marijuana, and five different controlled substances.
A loaded handgun and over $5,000 were also located in the vehicle.
The driver refused field sobriety tests, so a warrant was then requested and obtained to administer a blood test.
The driver, 56-year-old David B. Guthrie of Huron was then arrested and taken to the Orange County Jail.
He faces over half a dozen charges.
