Pike County Solar Farm in the Works

solar

A solar farm is currently in the works in Pike County.
Clean energy leaders Arevon and Tenaska say they are proud to be developing the Ratts 1 Solar Project.
The project will encompass nearly 1,200 acres and will cost around $128 million.
The solar farm is expected to generate enough solar energy to power the average electricity consumption of approximately 28,000 Indiana homes per year.
Once constructed, the project has a 35-year useful life.
After this time, it will be decommissioned in accordance with an agreed-upon decommissioning plan and bond.
Construction is currently set to get underway in 2024.
The project office will be located inside the Elmer Buchta Technology Center in Petersburg.
Jessica Adams was recently named the local project representative.
You can contact Adams with any questions by calling (812)-781-3023 or by emailing her at info@pikecountysolar.com.
