Georgia A. Vaughn, 83, formerly of Washington, died Wednesday in Holiday, Florida.
Born Oct. 29, 1931, in Daviess County, she was the daughter of Alva C. and Mattie M. (Williams) Winklepleck.
She worked at UniRoyal for 16 1/2 years and was retired. She was a member of Faithway Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She had a heart of gold and never met a stranger.
She is survived by two sons, John R. Vaughn of Crestview, Florida, and Terry L. Vaughn of Holiday; seven grandchildren, Brian Vaughn, Cristy (Vaughn) McDermott, Terry Vaughn Jr., Misty (Vaughn) Gottschalk, Jason Cramer, Jessica (Cramer) Bennett and Jacob Cramer; 22 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Roy Winklepleck, Ray Winklepleck, Jonas Winklepleck, all of Odon, and George Winklepleck of Washington; and three sisters, Betty Arthur of Odon, Wanita McDonald of Nokomis, Florida, and Lois O’Brian of Arizona.
Her husband, George H. Vaughn, preceded her in death. Also deceased are her parents; and two brothers, Edward L. Winklepleck and Johnnie Sipes.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Poindexter-McClure Funeral Home, Washington Chapel, with Rev. Mark Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Raglesville Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
