Two more Safe Haven baby boxes have been installed at fire stations in Evansville.
The boxes were installed at Evansville Fire Department Station 3 on North Fourth Avenue, and Station 16 on Washington Avenue.
When a baby is placed inside the box, it triggers a mechanism letting firefighters and medical personnel know that a baby is being surrendered.
The organization behind the boxes says it allows mothers to surrender a baby they don’t want with no questions asked.
