The Daviess County Commissioners met for their regular session on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the board heard from Highway Department Supervisor Chris Winkler and reviewed the 2022 annual bids. The board agreed to take the bids under advisement.
Following the highway department, the board heard from a representative from Janssen & Spaan’s Engineering. The company wanted to introduce themselves and offer their services if they were ever to be needed.
Also, at yesterday’s meeting, the board approved an imaging contract for the County Clerk’s Office as well as gave approval for the United Way Campaign which is set to get under way tomorrow.
Following regular business items, the board heard from members of the community. One citizen of the Veale Township wanted to request an ordinance be drawn up regarding disruptive noise in the county, namely barking dogs. The commissioners agreed to look at the issue, as they have received several similar complaints from other citizens.
The board also from a woman regarding South Alexander Hill Road. A petition was created and signed by community members to push for the road to be blacktopped. The reasoning was that road was narrow and could be a safety concern. The commissioners agreed to peruse options for road work.
