Notre Dame football looks to stay hot Saturday afternoon when the Fighting Irish host Georgia Tech for Senior Day in South Bend. The eighth-ranked Irish are 9-1 and winners of five straight. Notre Dame is 4-0 against ACC foes so far this season and is favored by 17 over the 3-7 Yellow Jackets, with the game getting underway at 2:30 p.m. Eastern. Purdue takes on Northwestern at Wrigley Field at noon. The Boilermakers are 6-4 and playing for bowl position. Purdue has not won seven games in the regular season since 2007, and is favored by 11 points over the Wildcats. Northwestern has lost four in a row to fall to 3-7. Indiana looks for its first Big Ten win of the season when the Hoosiers host Minnesota at 3:30. The Hoosiers have lost six straight and are 7.5-point underdogs to the Golden Gophers.
The Indiana Pacers wrap up a three-game road trip Friday night against the Charlotte Hornets. The Pacers have lost two straight after struggling offensively in the fourth quarter against both the Knicks and Pistons. Indiana is 6-10, and has played the last two games without rookie guard Chris Duarte, who has been sidelined with a shoulder injury. Charlotte beat the Blue and Gold 123-122 at home in the season-opener October 20th behind 31 points from LaMelo Ball. The Hornets are 9-7 and have won four in a row after a five-game skid. Charlotte is favored by 2.5 points for Friday night’s 7 p.m. Eastern tipoff.
The Indianapolis Colts take on the Buffalo Bills Sunday in New York in a rematch from last season’s playoffs. The Bills edged the Colts 27-24 in the AFC Wild Card round, in what ended up being Colts’ quarterback Philip Rivers’ final NFL game. Indianapolis enters Sunday’s contest 5-5 after clawing back to .500 after an 0-3 start, while Buffalo is 6-3. Colts coach Frank Reich said Wednesday that if any one of five or six plays went differently in January’s playoff matchup, Indianapolis would have won the game. Buffalo is coming off a rout of the New York Jets, while the Colts edged out division foe Jacksonville. Indianapolis has lost eight straight games versus teams with winning records. The Bills are favored by a touchdown for Sunday’s 1 p.m. kick off.
