Harry G. Ellis, 97, of Loogootee, passed away at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021 at his home.
He was born March 22, 1924 in Loogootee, Indiana to the late Asa and Mary B. (Halbert) Ellis.
Harry was a member of the White River Antique Association and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He enjoyed antique tractors, horses and anything involved with farming.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith (Meehan) Ellis; parents, Asa and Mary B. Ellis; siblings, Dorothy Spears, Mary Keller, Jim Ellis, Margaret Wagoner and Charlie Ellis; son-in-law, Denny Ash.
Harry is survived by his children, Barb Ash, Keith (Darlene) Ellis and Karen (Robert) Jones, all of Loogootee; grandchildren, Becky (Tom) Gates, Ashley (Corey) Arvin, Derek Ellis, Chad Jones and Kim Jones; great-grandchildren, Addy and Landon Gates and Maxwell and Luke Arvin; siblings, Bill Ellis, Raymond Ellis, both of Loogootee and Ruth Strange of Bloomington; special friend, Linda Schnarr of Washington.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee, officiated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 22, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
