The Liverpool Festival kicked off last night in downtown Washington.
The festival was created to highlight local history. Part of Washington was once known as Liverpool. Liverpool was the area around downtown, but later combined with the area around the High School. That area was known as Washington and the merger created the biggest town in the county.
The festival continues today starting at 10:00 am.

There will also be old fashioned carnival games, food trucks, cookie decorating, a cake walk, letters to Santa, and much more.
The event runs until 2:00 pm today at 3rd & Main in downtown Washington.
