Commissioners Approve Purdue Extension Contract

The Daviess County Board of Commissioners made quick work yesterday’s meeting agenda.
The Commissioners heard an update from the Highway Department who reported they are preparing for the winter months ahead. Highway Supervisor Chris Winkler reported there was no change to the 900 East Project and the Cannelburg Bridge Project.
In addition, the board approved the annual Contract with the Purdue Extension Office totaling around $207,00 dollars.
Commissioner Ron Arnold noted he would like there to be better coordination between the Extension Office and the County and thus requested certain language be changed in the contract. Due to a tight deadline, the board went ahead and approved the current contract. Commissioner Nathan Gabhart noted that the board would look at reevaluating language in the contract next spring.
Finally, the commissioners tabled a contract with the NACo Leadership Academy, an update to the Annual Code of Ordinance, and an ordinance regarding updates to the Daviess County Voting Districts.
The Commissioners discussed voting districts last week, but there was division on whether to keep the districts the same, so no action was taken.
