The Blue and Gold struggled defensively throughout the game, being outscored in all but the first quarter, which was a tie. Caris LeVert led the scoring figures with twenty-three. IU Football announced changes to their coaching staff for next season. According to the IndyStar, Offensive Coordinator Nick Sheridan has been fired from the Hoosiers staff and Head Coach Tom Allen will take a pay cut. Sheridan has taken a majority of the blame for the disappointing 2-10 season, winless in Big Ten play after the Hoosiers finished 6-2 last season and earned a preseason ranking. The Hoosiers scored seven points or fewer in six of their twelve games this past season, including their 44-7 loss to Purdue. Coach Allen’s pay cut comes as a measure to buy out the remaining $950,000 of Sheridan’s contract, which was set to expire in June 2023. Allen said the search for Sheridan’s replacement will begin immediately.
