Buddy Lee McCormick, 94, passed away November 25, 2021 in Washington, IN. He was born June 17, 1927 to Fred and Opal (Fettinger) McCormick in Cato, IN. Buddy proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a lifelong member of the Petersburg Main Street Presbyterian Church, the American Legion, Bird Hunters Club, and the United Mine Workers Association. He assisted in building the Prides Creek Golf Course in Petersburg.
Buddy is survived by his son, Terry (Peggy) McCormick; daughter, Sue Hill McCormick; grandchildren, Beth (Tim) McMillen, Eric (Karla) Hill, Matthew (Heather) Hill, and Asa and Isaac McCormick; 6 great grandchildren; and 4 great- great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” McCormick; his parents; a brother, Merle McCormick; and a sister, June McCormick.
Services for Buddy will take place at 2 PM EST on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg with visitation from 12 PM until service time. Pastor Ron Ficklin will be officiating and burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to PAWS in Petersburg and may be mailed to PO Box 63 Petersburg, IN 47567. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
