A Clay County man was killed after being struck by a car on Saturday.
Around 6:10 pm, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a motor vehicle /pedestrian accident on US HWY 40 and CR 700 W.
Police say the investigation determined that Charles Brown of Brazil had walked across US HWY 40 to go to the gas station.
When he was returning home, he again proceeded across the highway and into the path of 2016 Dodge Dart operated by Gavin Wysong of Brownsburg.
Police say Wysong was returning to ISU when he indicated that he never saw Brown who was dressed in dark clothing.
Brown was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clay County Coroner.
