Pike County has partnered with Knox, Spencer, Perry, and Harrison Counties to submit a READI (Regional Economic Acceleration & Development Initiative) grant application.
The Indiana First Region is among 17 total Indiana regions applying to the READI Program.
If the Indiana First Region were approved for READI funds, they could receive a total of $50 million in grants and potentially up to $42 million in capital improvements available to Pike County.
The READI Review Committee will be making formal recommendations for funding to the IEDC board of directors later this month.
Once approved, the IEDC will award READI funding to selected regions to advance implementation of projects and programs designed to catalyze economic growth and talent development in Indiana.
