Good Samaritan Hospital has announced their first babies of the new year.
Kayla and Craig Racster of Mt. Carmel, Illinois welcomed two baby girls on January 2, which is also Kayla’s birthday.
Lyra was technically the first baby of the new year, born at 10:07 am, but her sister Lydia followed quickly at 10:09 am.
The babies were delivered by Dr. Thomas O’Rourke via c-section. Lyra was 5 pounds, 11 ounces and was 19 inches long.
Lydia was 6 pounds, 6 ounces and was also 19 inches long. The girls will be welcomed home by three siblings, Nathan (6), Maddie (3) and Jayda (2).
Kayla says the babies were the best unexpected birthday present.
