June (Gladish) King, 94, of Petersburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born September 27, 1927, to Dewey and Mary Catherine (Sanders) Gladish, and married Robert Eugene King on January 17, 1948.
June was a 1947 graduate of Petersburg High School and had a career in banking for over 30 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Petersburg and later in life attended Algiers Methodist Church. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary.
In her spare time, June enjoyed playing bingo, doing puzzles, and watching sports on TV. She also loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved dogs and had many throughout her life, including her granddog Holly. She always had a lively spirit and loved to tease with friends and family.
She is survived by daughter, Sandra (Tom) Talley; grandson Thad (Tonya) Talley; nephew Mike (Carol) Stone, niece Suzanne (Danny) Blake, and 7 great nieces and nephews, and 9 great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” King, her parents, sister Betty Stone, and brother Keith Gladish.
Funeral services will be at 2:00pm EST on Friday, January 14, 2022, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, Indiana, with Pastor Mike Atkins officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:00am until service time. Burial will be at Walnut Hills Cemetery.
