Indiana’s Oldest State Worker Dies at 104

A recipient of the state’s highest honor has died at the age of 104.
Bob Vollmer retired from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources in 2020 and also received the Sagamore of the Wabash from Governor Holcomb.
Vollmer worked for the DNR for 56 years making him the oldest state worker.
He was also a World War II veteran.
There is a sign dedicated to Vollmer at Brown County State Park.
