The Daviess County Health Department released the latest local COVID-19 numbers yesterday. Like many other places, COVID cases are on the rise. The Health Department reports 405 new cases have been confirmed in the county since last Friday, January 7th. 3 Additional COVID deaths were also reported within Daviess County.
On Thursday, Daviess Community Hospital reported there were 9 people in their hospital with COVID. Four of those were in the ICU with one person on a ventilator. Only one of those individuals was reported vaccinated.
Good Samaritan Hospital reported on Friday that they had 22 hospitalized COVID patients. 9 of those are in the ICU and 3 are on ventilators.
The Knox County Health Department reports the county currently has 395 active cases and 4 new COVID deaths.
Daviess County is currently in Red Status and is showing a 7-day positivity rate of 17.1%. All surrounding counties, and most of the state, is also in Red Status.
