A Pike County man faces several charges following an investigation by Indiana State Police.
Authorities initiated a criminal investigation in October 2021 after receiving a cyber tip concerning child pornography files being shared through Facebook by 47-year-old Jason Potts of Petersburg.
On January 20, Indiana State Police and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served a search warrant at Potts’ residence in Petersburg.
According to court documents, troopers discovered numerous media files that had been shared between Potts and female children under the age of 16.
The investigation revealed the alleged incidents occurred between October 2020 and January 2022.
An arrest warrant was issued, and Potts was taken into custody yesterday morning at his home in Petersburg.
He is currently being held on bond in the Pike County Jail.
Potts is charged with Vicarious Sexual Gratification, 2 Counts of Child Solicitation, and 2 Counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
