Marilyn Fettinger

Marilyn Alleen Fettinger, 82, of Petersburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 10. 2022 with her sons by her side at Amber Manor Nursing Home in Petersburg. She was born September 6, 1939 to Sherman Henry and Lela Marie (Leighty) Rhodes. She married the love of her life, Neaville Louis Fettinger, on May 1, 1959. Neaville went to be with his Lord on October 16, 2009.
She had worked at Nicholes Photo Studio in Evansville and Sattlers Restaurant in Petersburg before marrying Neaville and moving to Greenwood. Upon retirement they moved back to their roots in Pike County. She was a member of the Gospel Center Church in Petersburg where she served in Awanas, choir, nursery, and Sunday school. She participated in the “Heaven’s Gates and Hell’s Flames” drama several times. She was an avid euchre player, being on two euchre teams simultaneously. Even when dementia affected her memory, she retained her ability to play.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey and Larry (Angie) Fettinger of Petersburg; daughter in law, Carla Fettinger of Greenwood, IN; grandchildren, Larry (Shelby) Fettinger II of Niles, MI, Steven Fettinger of Norman, IN, Brandi (Brandon) Blake of Bargersville, IN; great grandchildren, Trinity, Austin, Zeke, Nicholi, and Grayson Fettinger of Niles, MI and Brendon Miller, Gabbriella and Natalya Blake of Bargersville, IN; sisters, Joyce (Jim) Lawrence of Huntingburg, IN and Loretta (Jim) Hangley of Greenwood, IN; and brother, Ted (Beth) Rhodes of Linton, IN.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Myrtle Nicholes of Evansville, Mae Kinman of Otwell, and Betty Cleveland of Indianapolis; brother, Bernard Rhodes of Petersburg; and son, Steven Fettinger of Greenwood.
Services for Marilyn will take place at 1 PM EST on Monday, February 14, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, IN with visitation from 10 AM until service time. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Campbelltown. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
