Richard Lee Wampler, 81, of Westphalia, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022. He was born in Spencer, IN on September 7, 1940 to the late Ronald Wampler and Hazel (Wright) Wampler.
Richard was employed by the Indiana State Highway Department as an engineer. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, golfing, fishing, hunting and sports in general. He also enjoyed helping those around him in any way he could. He was a member of the Phill Harris Golf Course in Linton, IN, the High Point Golf Course in Bicknell, IN, a supporting member of the PGA and a member of the French Club in Bicknell, IN. Richard is survived by nephews Tim Wampler (Kim) of Vincennes and A.J. Wampler of Bloomington; close friends Micheal Ingram of Princeton, John Ingram of Edwardsport, Jeremy Payne of Winslow, and Brian Payne Hanson, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Wampler.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes Bicknell Chapel from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. with a service immediately following also at the funeral home.
