An Owensboro, KY man faces several charges after stealing a Ford Ranger.
The Jasper Police Department was notified on Saturday that a stolen vehicle from Kentucky was in the Jasper area. Police later located the vehicle at the Comfort Inn.
They say they found the vehicle unoccupied, but said that a few minutes later, a man came out of the hotel, hopped in the stolen vehicle, and drove away.
A high-risk traffic stop was then conducted at the intersection of Hospitality Drive and 100 South.
The driver was identified as 40-year-old Christopher Gillihan. Police also learned he was using a cell phone app that was scanning police radio frequencies while driving.
He was arrested after admitting to stealing the vehicle and charged with Possession of Stolen Property, Unauthorized Entry of a Motor Vehicle, and Unlawful Use of a Police Radio.
Police say he also had outstanding felony warrants out of Warrick County. Gillihan was booked into the Dubois County Jail.
