John W. King II 77 of Washington, went to his heavenly home on Monday, February 21, 2022, with his loving family at his side.
John was born in Huntingburg, IN on January 26, 1945 to the late John W. King I and Henrietta (Altmeyer) King.
John was a US Vietnam Army Veteran and was an avid outdoorsman, in his younger days; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and mowing the yard. He liked to sit on the porch and feed the neighborhood cats and watch westerns after his health began to decline. He worked as a truck driver and was a devoted family man; he was a member of the Washington Legion, VFW, and Eagles Lodge.
John is survived by; his wife of fifty-seven years, Alice Reynolds King; children, John W. King III of Vincennes, Angela F. Smeltzer of Washington, Kevin E. King of Washington, Teresa Martinez-Cruz (Norberto) of Freelandville ; grandchildren, Blaine M. King, Aiden King, Christian Smeltzer (Samantha), Trenton Smeltzer (Sarah), Kiersten Smeltzer, Cortni Cassell (Tom), Casey Wininger (Zachary), Bridget King, Allyson King, Zachary King (Shanda), Breanna King, Sean (Ellie) Buckley, and Derrick (Amber) Crews; fourteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Koleen Drew (Jay) of Washington, Cheryl King of Washington, and Debbie Hatton of Vincennes.
He was preceded by; his parents; children, Charlotte King and Beverly King; Siblings, Christina Strange, Linda Clark, and Jerry King.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Ed Lee Mortuary North Chapel with Pastor Evan Nave officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday at Ed Lee Mortuary North Chapel 620 East Viola Avenue.
