A fire in Sullivan County has claimed a life.
On Wednesday, fire departments were dispatched to a structure fire at 8065 East Church Street in Dugger.
Fire crews report that upon arrival, the wood frame structure, which once housed the United Methodist Church of Dugger, was fully engulfed.
An adjacent home and vehicle also caught fire because of the intense heat.
Around 6:15 pm, fire investigators discovered a deceased person inside the home.
The cause and origin of the fire is currently under investigation and the person has not yet been publicly identified.
An autopsy is scheduled for today.
