Wisconsin Man Arrested in Gibson County

A Wisconsin man faces multiple felony charges following a traffic stop in Gibson County.
On Friday around 6:45 pm, an Indiana State Trooper stopped the driver of a Chevrolet Avalanche for speeding on US 41 just north of Princeton. The driver was identified as 56-year-old Aurthur Thomas of Milwaukee, WI.
Police say they detected the odor of marijuana, and upon further search of the vehicle, located numerous baggies of marijuana weighing about 171 grams. Troopers also found a pill bottle containing suspected cocaine, about 24 Oxycontin pills, and a handgun.
Further investigation revealed the handgun had been reported stolen from Wisconsin and that Thomas was driving without a license.
He was arrested and taken to the Gibson County Jail where he is currently being held on bond.
He is charged with Dealing Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Stolen Handgun, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance, and Operating a Vehicle without ever Receiving a Driver’s License.
