An accident with injuries in Jasper led to a drug arrest last night.
On Thursday, the Jasper Police Department was dispatched to Springs Valley Bank at the intersection of 15th/Newton in reference to a single vehicle accident with injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 42-year-old James Taves of Jasper who was driving with a suspended driver’s license.
Police say Taves showed signs of impairment and later tested positive for cocaine, opiates, MDMA, amphetamines, cannabinoid, and methamphetamine.
In addition, marijuana, methamphetamine, and heroin was found on Taves’ person and additional heroin was found in his vehicle.
He was charged with Driving While Suspended Prior, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with Endangerment, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Narcotic Drug, and Possession of Methamphetamine.
Taves was booked into the Dubois County Security Center.
