Eleanor ‘Boots’ Louise Bellamy, 89, of Ayrshire community, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 12, 2022.
She was born November 6, 1932, to George and Lottie (Crow) Blacketer in Winslow.
A 1949 Winslow High School graduate, she attended and was a member of Ayrshire Valley General Baptist Church for 89 years. She was a member of the church’s Ladies Missionary Society and was a pianist for the church for many years. She also taught Sunday School and enjoyed singing. Her personal relationship with Jesus Christ was expressed to others by her words and acts of generosity and kindness.
She was a member of the Jefferson Twp. (Otwell) Community Center. She was employed at The Press-Dispatch for more than 40 years, prior to retiring in 2017.
She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne (Wayne) Cooper, of St. Louis, Mo and Angela (John) Heuring, of Petersburg; son John Alan, of Ayrshire community; grandchildren Jennifer (Jason) Teemer, Amanda (Chris) Becker and Jonathan Cooper, all of St. Louis; and four great-grandchildren, Lelaina, Elias and Blakely Becker and Weston Teemer, all of St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one half-sister, and her husband, John W. Bellamy.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 17 at 3 p.m. with visitation from noon to 3 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, with Rev. Frank Coleman officiating.
Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
