Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Indiana is close to wrapping up.
This week, we have covered a variety of topics on how you can succeed in building a Weather Ready Nation.
Today’s focus is on what the National Weather Service is doing to help you and your local officials succeed.
The National Weather Service says their vision of a Weather Ready Nation is one in which communities are prepared to respond to extreme weather, water, and climate events.
They are consistently analyzing forecasts and warnings that better supports response and are also training officials, businesses, and the public in weather hazard awareness.
In addition, the National Weather Service supports local officials during hazard response exercises, operations, and serves State Homeland Security before, during, and after disasters.
