The Vincennes Police Department has been made aware of an ongoing scam now affecting area residents.
A random number will text you a picture of a female who will act like she knows you. The same person will then ask if you would like to meet and has been known to send explicit photos.
Vincennes Police says this appears to be a scam, but that there is no reason to believe there is any danger to the community.
Police simply encourage area residents to not reply to the messages and block the number if received.
They say it is always good practice to avoid engaging with a number you do not recognize.
