Indiana’s May 3rd Primary Election is just around the corner, and Daviess County Clerk Janice Williams says that time is running short for those citizens who need to register to vote for the first time, need to transfer to a new precinct, or make a name change. The deadline to register to vote or to update your registration is 4:00 p.m. April 4.
You can register at the County Clerk’s office, or at a Bureau of Motor Vehicle’s office as you renew your driver’s license. You and also register and make changes to your registration on-line at indianavoters.com.
The County Clerk’s office also reminds voters that they will need a government issued photo I.D. such as a passport, driver’s license, or a government issued I.D. to register.
The Daviess County Clerk’s office is located on the top floor of the Daviess County Courthouse and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. To be eligible to vote, citizens must be 18 years of age by the General Election on November 8, 2022. In other election related news, the Daviess County Clerk’s office has announced that early voting will begin on Tuesday, April 5th. Early voting will continue at the Clerk’s office Monday through Friday until noon on May 2nd. The Clerk’s office will also be open for early voting on Saturday April 23, and Saturday, April 30 for early voting. Voters will need to show an Indiana Driver’s License, or other government issued photo ID. Citizens who need assistance with voting or need a ballot mailed to them should contact the Voter Registration office.
