Ronald L. Russell, 81, formerly of Washington, but had resided in Petersburg for the last several years; went to his heavenly home on Thursday, April 7, 2022.
Ronald was born in Daviess County on November 29, 1940 to the late Woodrow Russell and Edith Irene Taylor Russell.
Ronald was a member of the class of 1957 at Washington High School, then obtained a degree to be an electrician. Ronald was employed by Whirlpool Corp. in Evansville as an electrician and retired after thirty-eight years of service. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. As a young man Ronald enjoyed hunting and fishing; later in life, he enjoyed rides in his beloved Buick to check the crops, having dinner at the Gasthof Amish Village, and just the simple freedom of being able to being able to go and come as he wished. Ronald was also a member of the Masonic Lodge until his health would no longer allow it.
Ronald is survived by; his loving daughters, Roxanne Keaton (John), Betty Russell (Bill Harris), Rosanna Merkel (Scott) and Rhonda Robinson (Kevin); six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; siblings, Gail Kirkpatrick, Susie Kendall, and Terry Russell; and many nieces and nephews.
Ronald was preceded in death by; wife, Mary Lou Russell; and siblings, Beverly Curshall, Sharon Byrer, Marilyn Schwartz, Janice Mayes, Noble Russell, Harold Russell, Woody Russell, and Jack Russell.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Fredrick and Son-Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut St. Washington, IN 47501, with a service immediately following. Afterwards Ronald will be laid to rest in New Veale Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Alztheimer’s Association at 225 N. Michigan Ave. Fl 17 Chicago, IL 60601.
