The George Rogers Clark National Historical Park has released an update regarding the recent lamp post cover thefts.
Last week, the park announced they were investigating a widespread theft of panel covers for the historic bronze lampposts within the George Rogers Clark National Historical Park.
The lampposts were installed in 1932 and surround the park grounds including the George Rogers Clark Memorial.
The park says they appreciate everyone who sent in photos of the lampposts last week.
Officials are now asking that any dogwalkers or people who visited the park on April 1st, from approximately 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, to please reach out to park staff or the Vincennes Police Department.
Park Officials haven’t said too much but did note there were suspicious people in the park that may be related to this theft.
You may have seen something and not realized its implication.
Please call (812)-882-1776 or email joey_herron@nps.gov if you have any information.
