The BIG 10 will keep their Conference Championship at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Conference announced the BIG 10 football championship will continue to be played in Indianapolis through the 2024 season. Indianapolis has been the only home for the football championship game since its induction in 2011. Neither of Indiana’s Big 10 schools, IU and Purdue, have made the conference championship. An estimated 700,000 fans have attended the big game in Lucas Oil Stadium. In 2021 nearly 70,000 fans attended the championship game, the third highest attendance in Lucas Oil Stadium behind Super Bowl XLVI and the 2022 College Football National Championship. Day two of IndyCar testing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway has concluded and one driver had one of the fastest laps since 2003. Josef Newgarden hit a lap speed of 229 mph yesterday, the fastest lap time since Tony Kanaan hit the same mark in 2003. Newgarden has yet to win an Indy 500, but looks to change that this season. Newgarden leads the early season in points after a win at Texas and Long Beach, being the first multi race winner this season. Other drivers bolstered top speeds as well, including 2008 winner Scott Dixon who had a 228 mph lap. If a Penske driver comes away with a victory this year, it would be a record setting 19 wins for the team. A team Penske driver has won three of the last seven Indy 500s.
