Beginning in May, Indiana’s gas taxes will reach an all-time high.
Indiana’s gas taxes will reach a combined total of 74.5 cents-a-gallon in the month of May.
According to the Department of Revenue, the state’s tax is calculated based on the average price of gas from the previous month.
So, under state law, the gas tax will be 10% higher than in April.
For comparison, that’s 60% higher than last year.
The tax rate alone will be 24.1 cents-a-gallon.
