Donald Keith Rainey, 60, of Washington, Indiana, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana
He was born on January 1, 1962, to Jackie Dale Rainey and Donna Kaye (Dalton) Gentry in Bedford, Indiana.
Don was a 1981 graduate of Washington High School. After high school, he started working for the family business, Daviess County Equipment Inc., as a truck driver. Don worked from then on and eventually became the Owner/Operator of the business. On April 26, 1997, Don married the love of his life, Karen Baumert, and they spent over twenty years happily married.
In his free time, Don loved to shoot guns, look at classic cars/trucks and grill food for his family. He adored his dogs, “Kira & Missy”. He loved his family deeply and loved to spend time with them any chance he had. His nieces and nephews were very important to him.
Surviving Don is his wife, Karen (Baumert) Rainey, of Washington, Indiana, his father, Jackie Dale Rainey (Linda), his beloved dog, Kira, his brothers, Brad Rainey (Michele) of Washington, Scott Rainey (Brenda) of Washington, Brian Rainey (Lori) of Washington, his half-sisters, Jackie Howe (Rick) of Bedford, Indiana, Amber Branham (Mike) of Bedford, his stepsister Sara Harrell (Brandon), several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Donna, his step – dad Garland R. Gentry, his nephew Nicholas, and his beloved dog “Missy”.
Visitation for Don will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 3:00 – 7:00pm at Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State St., Washington, Indiana 47501. A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at 1:00pm at Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sugarland Memory Gardens.
