Lenora Larkin

Lenora Jean Larkin, 90, who resided most of her life in Loogootee IN, died at 2:35 pm on Saturday April 23, 2022, in Lafayette IN.
She was born on May 15, 1931, in Greensburg IN, the daughter of Densil and Versie Davis. Lenora had 4 older brothers and sisters and grew up on a farm. She attended grade school and high school in Greensburg.
Lenora married James A. Larkin on Oct 10, 1953, and he preceded her in death on March 14, 2011.
Lenora and Jim owned and operated the Red and White grocery store in Loogootee for several years.
Lenora was a member of St John Catholic Church in Loogootee and was active in the Parish including being a member of the choir and serving as a Eucharistic Minister to shut-ins. She and her husband Jim were recipients of the Brute Society Award from the Diocese of Evansville. Lenora was a member of Tri-Kappa sorority for many years.
Lenora treasured her family and friends. Besides spoiling them, she would brag about her grandchildren and great grandchildren to anyone who would listen.
She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Jayma Acton (David) of Bloomington IN.
Lenora is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann McAtee (Stephen) of Lafayette IN. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren: Kyle McAtee, Tyler McAtee, Erin McAtee, Jay Acton, Matthew Acton, Hannah O’Rourke and 13 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m.
Visitation will also be held Wednesday, April 27, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Condolences may be made online at www.blakefuneralhomes.com.
