Petersburg residents woke up Monday morning to find no running water in their homes.
The cause was due to a water main break which was repaired that afternoon.
The City of Petersburg now has water; however, the city is also now under a boil water advisory.
It is recommended that all cooking and drinking water be brought to a complete boil for five minutes before use.
Petersburg residents are asked to continue boiling all cooking and drinking water until notified by the city that it is no longer necessary.
Residents are also asked to conserve water and only use what is necessary.
