Dixie Phipps

Dixie Phipps of Oaktown formally of Indianapolis went be with our Lord and Savior on April 24, 2022. She was born February 29,1936 to Virginia Hinton ( Keller ) and William Hinton in Linton, Indiana. She always had fun with her leap year birthday. She grew up in Bruceville, Indiana having also lived in Arizona and California as a child. She graduated from Bruceville
High school where she met the love of her life James “Jimmy” Phipps. They were married for 47 years until his passing in 2001.They made their home in Indianapolis,Indiana and had two daughters, Cathy Carie ( Kevin ) of Vincennes and Lisa Tapley ( Donald ) of Oaktown.
Dixie was a homemaker and loved going shopping with her daughters. She loved watching her “soaps” and was an avid reader. She went to a water aerobics class for several years with her good friend Betty Hylton and met many friends there. She was also a member of a Euchre club  for many many years and made lifelong friends with them. She was a member of the Union Chapel Methodist Church In Indianapolis.
Surviving are her daughters, five grandchildren. Dustin Patton of Vincennes, Jeffrey Patton of Bicknell, Brittany Ashley (Chris) of Vincennes, Lauren Carie and Wade Carie both of Vincennes. And 7 great grandchildren.  Her parents and husband proceeded her in death.
There will be a private graveside service at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association  50 E 91st St STE 100 Indianapolis IN 46209-4830 in memory of Dixie Phipps.
