Jeffrey Alan “Cricket” Weaver, 61, passed away at his residence in Wilmington, North Carolina, April 19, 2022. Jeff was born in the Scott AFB Hospital in Illinois on December 1, 1960, to William Joseph and Shirley Lynn (Richardson) Weaver.
Jeffrey served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps from January 1981-March 1991. Following separation, he was diagnosed as a disabled veteran from service-related injuries. He most recently worked at the AutoZone in the North Wilmington area of North Carolina.
Jeff thoroughly enjoyed NASCAR races, auto mechanics, listening to music, and being with family and friends. Most that knew him called him “Cricket” because of his uncanny ability to playfully entertain people by perfectly mimicking a cricket’s chirping.
Jeff is mourned by his parents, William Weaver and Shirley (Richardson) Weaver; his sisters, Debra (Michael) Pellant, and Teresa (Jeffrey) Culley of Evansville, Indiana; his sons, Darin Weaver, and David (Devon) Weaver; grandson Maxwell of Raleigh, North Carolina; his Uncle James and Aunt Marilyn Weaver, and Aunt Judy Dickens of Belvidere, Illinois; his nephews, Christopher, Nicholas, and Nathaniel Pellant, and Matthew, Mitchell, and Mason Culley; and his nieces, Candice (Casey) Curd, and Caitlin Pellant.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mrs. Violet Weaver, Mr. & Mrs. Charles and Bessie Jett.
A private family ceremony will be held at the Sugarland Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Washington, Indiana.
